Who am I?
The question that has been asked since I was in high school, writing my first Psychology class paper. Years later, that paper remains unfinished.
I can tell you, with more certainty, who I am not. I am not a person who will judge another. I learned that from having to deal with many challenges growing up and feeling very lost and alone with no one to speak to about them. I am not someone who’s going to tell one how to live their own unique lives – I am someone who can offer assistance in helping someone find peace in the face of the day to day stresses.
I have experience working with families, individuals, couples, adolescents and teenagers. I have a direct approach, respecting the client, helping each meet their treatment goals. Working with families, I use a structural approach, helping the family learn boundaries.
I use cognitive behavioral therapy to help decrease anxiety as well as assist with PTSD.
I have an open mind, and an open heart – helping others is who I am.
